This Saturday, August 18, the Washtenaw County Democratic Party will have its annual County Convention where we electWashtenaw County members and alternates to State Convention Committees for the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) and consider resolutions for forwarding to the State Convention Platform Committee. The County Convention starts at noon. Prior to that, we will host a 1-hour training for Precinct Delegates and other grassroots organizers to show you how you can connect with the local campaigns and the Obama for America get out the vote (GOTV) effort.

There are a number of tight races in Washtenaw County and we want you to be prepared to help these candidates and ballot initiatives succeed in the November general election. We will have representatives from state House candidate Gretchen Driskell’s campaign, Circuit Court candidate Carol Kuhnke’s campaign, OFA and the Protect Working Families (formerly Protect Our Jobs) ballot initiative along with others presenting information. You will learn how to become part of an effective grassroots organizing effort in your area.

Please join us at 11:00 a.m. at the Pittsfield Township Administration Building, 6201 West Michigan Avenue, Ann Arbor (just west of Platt Road) to participate in this training opportunity.
