We are looking for our region’s most promising candidates to join our 2022 cohort of Democratic leaders. Sign up here

Our spring course, Run a Strong Campaign in Our Region, allows leaders to learn from top practitioners via Zoom sessions on making the different elements of a strategic campaign as effective as possible today—such as communications, digital, organizing, and fundraising.

Rising also provides individual coaching and mentorship focused on helping candidates cultivate their authentic, resonant message and campaign strategies to get that message out. Participants receive access to Rising’s messaging, polling, and effective communication examples.

  • Who: Join a network of more than 500 Democratic leaders who are making Democrats the party of working people to win and create change in our communities.
  • Where: Rising works with candidates and those who are assisting them at any level (local, state, and federal) in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.
  • When: Applications are due April 4, but are accepted on a rolling basis afterward. Weekly sessions begin in April and run through June.

What Rising participants say:

“As a candidate, finding networks that can help you hone your messaging, better run your operations, and find community are essential. While national organizations are great, the political landscape can look very different from community to community across the country. Rust Belt Rising provided information, resources, and a network that is focused on Democrats in the Midwest, and helping to build and re-establish Democratic strongholds in our communities. I would strongly encourage Midwestern candidates to connect with and benefit from Rust Belt Rising!”
—Amanda Qualls, 2020 Indiana House of Representatives District 49 candidate

Apply now if you are running for office, working on a campaign, or are a local volunteer leader. Past Rising participants are always encouraged to sign up again to hear from new presenters on what is working across our states from standout campaigns to draw on.
