As you know words matter. Even more important is how people process what they hear. Conservatives have controlled these words through messages (frames) that our society has absorbed and repeated ad nauseam for far too long.
It is time for you and I to take back the conversation.
That’s why Saline Indivisible and A2D2 (Ann Arbor Indivisible for Democracy) are hosting a Basic Framing Workshop on learning how to effectively reshape thinking in this country towards a more progressive worldview based on empathy and social responsibility.
Lisa DiRado and Michelle Pallas are traversing the state conducting these workshops. Their organization is called Liberal Leadership League. They draw upon the work of George Lakoff (“Don’t Think of an Elephant”) and Anat Shenker-Osorio (Brave New Words Podcast), who is an expert framer. Listen to an interview with Anat here! Also, don’t miss the Swing Left training call with Anat Feb 17 from 730 to 830 pm and sign up here!
