August 26, 2020 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. The culmination of decades of tireless activism by pioneers of the women’s suffrage movement is celebrated today to honor their courage and sacrifice, and to remind women that our work is far from finished. As we celebrate the anniversary of the19th Amendment, we must also understand the crucial role women play to protect access to the ballot box.  In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and as the Trump Administration continues to threaten American’s Constitutional right to participate in our elections,  women must work to ensure all voices are heard.

Please join the Democratic Women’s Caucus, on the 5th Anniversary of the introduction of the Voting Rights Advancement Act, to celebrate every woman’s right to vote and how women are raising their voices today. The discussion will focus on how women have fought for voting rights, our role in protecting the right to vote against constant attacks, and why diverse women’s voices matter in our democracy.
