WCDP Community Forum, Monthly Meeting: The Case for Reparations in the Light of Covid-19

How the Effects of Covid 19 on the African American Community Strengthen the Case for Reparations
This call to action will feature an update from our guest panelists, the honorable Dr. JoAnn Watson. Dr. Watson is a member of the National board of N’COBRA (National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America), and provides leadership for HR.40. “Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act”. (This bill was introduced by Congressman John Conyers.) Dr. Watson is also a Pastor, Radio Personality and former member of the Detroit City Council.
Other panelists include: Dr, Ronald Woods, Emeritus Professor of Africology and African American Studies; Charles Wilson, MSW, Community Health Promotion Supervisor, Washtenaw County Health Department; Rev. James “Major” Woodall, State President, Georgia NAACP, Leadership Team “We are Done Dying Campaign”; William H. Hampton, President Ann Arbor branch NAACP; Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton; Ken Wilson, Pastor Blue Ocean Church; and Attorneys Robin McCoy and Toi Dennis of the Vanzetti Hamilton Bar Association
This WCDP meeting will take place using the online conferencing software Zoom. The meeting will start with our Candidates’ Corner, a chance to meet candidates running for a range of offices.
