9:45 — Introduction by Theresa Reid, WCDP Chair

10:00 — Representative Debbie Dingell

10:25Volunteer appreciation.  Although we lost the election at the top of the ballot, the Democrat Party won key races in Michigan, including the elections of Kyra Harris Bolden and Kimberly Ann Thomas to the Michigan Supreme Court, and Elisa Slatkin to the Senate.  Thousands of Democratic Party volunteers in Washtenaw County played a critical role in these and other campaigns.  This is an occasion to recognize their work and to thank them.

10:50 — Summary of the suggestions of participants at the evening meeting on November 17th, when eighty Washtenaw Democrats met to discuss the way forward in small groups.

11:00 — Reflections on the challenges Democrats will face under the second Trump administration and how we might, or should, respond. a conversation with

  • State Senator Jeff Irwin
  • Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners Chair Justin Hodge
  • Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit
  • Ypsilanti Mayor Nicole Brown (invited)
