County Nominating Convention

 

Here’s a chance to flex your power as a WCDP member!

 

On March 22, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, the WCDP will hold its Spring nominating convention for these purposes:

    1. To elect members to three statewide MDP committees: to hammer out Credentials, Resolutions, and Rules for the April 19 Nominating Convention in Detroit.
    2. To approve minor bylaws adjustments to align with recent MDP bylaws changes.
    3. To consider resolutions for advancement to MDP, including for the elimination of tax incentives for data centers, and a call for a moratorium on construction of data centers – issues of significant discussion in Michigan in recent months.

Critical deadlines:

 
  • Friday, March 16: Additional resolutions may be submitted until end of day March 16 to give members an opportunity to consider them with other convention materials. To submit a resolution, email the draft to secretary@washtenawdems.org.
  • Friday, March 16:  Use this form to submit your self-nomination for election to one of the MDP committees (described in the Call to Convention) by end of day Monday, March 16, to ensure that your nomination is included in convention materials.
  • Friday, March 20: Register here no later than 5:00 pm to participate in this convention to enable the Membership Committee to check qualifications.
