SUPPORT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY WHILE CLEARING OUT OLD TECHNOLOGY & MISC EQUIPMENT
The Ypsilanti non-profit called uniteSTEM provides educational support for some of the most challenged students in the Ypsilanti Community Schools (YCS). This past year, the uniteSTEM program worked with students from the alternative high school program called Achieving College and Career Education (ACCE). The ACCE program is planning to add an alternative YCS middle school program this coming year.
They use a science and technology project based approach to help kids learn how things work. The program allows the students to take apart old or non-working technology and other donated equipment to understand what made it work. Students then use the same equipment to construct new things like robots. If you have old, non-usable, or broken technology and equipment that might be donated, it could benefit this program and help students learn.
