The Washtenaw County Democratic Party (WCDP) will be holding the 2020 Summer County Convention for 7th Congressional District members via Zoom on Saturday, August 15th beginning at 10 a.m.  The purpose of this Convention shall be to elect one (1) male member to the Credentialing Committee and one (1) female alternate to the Platform & Resolutions Committee of the Michigan Democratic Party State Convention on August 29th & 30th and to consider resolutions and platform suggestions to be forwarded to the State Party. Pre-registration is required (see below.) You will need to download the Zoom desktop app HERE or the mobile app HERE in order to participate. NOTE: You will NOT be able to participate via the web client. Registration begins now and will close at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the meeting.

In order to participate in this meeting, you will need to have been a member of the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) for at least 30 days, meaning you will have had to be a member before July 16th, 2020. This 30-day requirement is waived for Precinct Delegates and Democratic elected officials but they must become a member no later than 9:00 a.m. on August 15th and send proof of their membership by forwarding their email receipt to Only members who have preregistered and had their membership verified will be allowed into the meeting since voting will take place.

When you pre-register for the Zoom meeting, we will check your eligibility before sending you information on how to log into the meeting. Please pre-register early to assist us in checking people in. If too many people register at the last minute, the meeting will be delayed.

Note: WCDP organizes the Summer Convention for the members in the 7th Congressional District, while the 12th CD Dems organize for their members. Both will be on August 15th: CD 7 in the morning, CD 12 in the afternoon. If your membership is current you will have received an email from the 12th District.
