October 12th Program Materials
For the first potluck, on September 14, we introduced the framework for resisting authoritarian takeover that was developed by Indivisible for its One Million Rising training series. All of our future work together will refer back to and develop our understanding of and implementation of this framework. Be sure to see the resources, partners, and inspiration for the entire potluck series here.
Participants in the second Washtenaw Alliance 2026+ Community potluck learned about immigration in Washtenaw County from William D. Lopez, Clinical Associate Professor in UM’s School of Public Health (pictured here); from Sylvia Nolasco-Rivers, founder of Pilar’s Foundation; from Molli Espionza of Washtenaw Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights; and from co-chair of WCDP’s Precinct Organizing committee, Janet Cannon, a committed, long-time volunteer with immigrant families. Participants studied Washtenaw County resources in mutual aid in the immigration space and more broadly (a remarkable, evolving list, begun by Barb Wetula, Ann Arbor Indivisible and WCDP volunteer). We’ll need more and more mutual aid as this administration’s policies hit.
Next potluck: Sunday, November 9, 5 – 8 pm. Topic TBD. Look for the signup link next week.
