National Day of Lobbying 2: Impeach, Convict, Remove – Washtenaw County – MI (06)

On 2.17, constituents from across all 50 states went into at least 110 in-district offices of US Representatives to talk about impeaching Trump and abolishing ICE. Some offices locked their doors and appeared visibly shaken (e.g., Nancy Mace); others sat down and had tough conversations with constituents. Across most offices – a common theme emerged: we don’t want to have to see you and have this discussion again.

So, on 3.9 – we’re going back! Impeachment is not optional. It is the remedy mandated by the Constitution. Likewise, Congress holds the power to de-fund and abolish ICE. They aren’t acting because they do not have the political will to do so. So we will lend them some more of ours. (The follow-up is when it starts to become really uncomfortable for the offices.)

WHO/WHEN:

On Monday, 3/9, FLARE USA, Citizens’ Impeachment, Sons of Liberty, state chapters of 50501, progressive candidates, and many other concerned citizens will join together in leading constituents into the local/in-district offices of all 435 US House Representatives to demand impeachment and the abolishment of ICE.
