9:45   Introduction by Theresa Reid, WCDP Chair

  • Learn about WCDP’s leadership of the Washtenaw Alliance 2026+, hosting monthly community potlucks to build support and capacity for effective action
  • With Ian Robinson, President of Huron Valley Area Labor Federation (HVALF), learn about the developing Rapid Response Network

  • What Dems are doing to advance a fair state budget, adequate school funding, and protection from harm from the Big Bad Bill

11:00  State law and the International Building Code layout standards for rental housing in Michigan. This discussion will include tenants with lived experience, housing advocates, and officials with the ability to hold landlords accountable by taking collective action when living conditions are unsafe.

Panelists: Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit and representatives of the Fair Housing Center and a tenant from  Arbor One.
