Volunteer with WCDP, Help us Grow!

It is never too early to engage with voters and build relationships. Come join us as we resume WCDP tabling at Washtenaw Community College.

If you have an hour and a half on Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 11:30 – 1, come join us, sign up here: Table with WCDP. Training is provided.

Positions Open:

WCDP Statutory Vice Chair – the Statutory Vice-Chair shall assist the Chair in the discharge of the Chair’s duties and shall temporarily assume the duties and responsibilities of the Chair in the Chair’s absence. Qualifications include deep experience in WCDP operations, significant experience as a WCDP volunteer, at least three years’ leadership experience in WCDP or similar complex volunteer organization, and demonstrated facility for team building with volunteers of widely disparate personalities and points of view. Deep knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order a major benefit. Time commitment a bare minimum of 10 hours per week.

Why?

You will receive your ballot at home ~45 days before every election.
You can vote anytime you feel like it and use the postage-paid envelope to mail your ballot back OR drop it in your nearest drop box (see below).
You can use MIvoter.org at your leisure to learn about the candidates, ballot proposals, and deadlines, and to find your nearest drop box.
You don’t have to worry about being sick or stuck at work on Election Day, or about lines or intimidation at the polls.

How?

You can request a ballot online if you’re already registered to vote in Michigan and check the option to automatically receive ballots for all future elections.

MMOP (Michiganders for Money Out of Politics)
needs as many folks carrying clipboards as possible at No Kings 3 so we can get this ballot initiative over the finish line. The final deadline has been extended until May 13. Anyone who signed before Nov. 15 can and should sign again! Right now, in Michigan, the CLIPBOARD is truly your most effective tool at a protest!

Pick up a clipboard and petitions every Thursday at Ann Arbor’s Westgate Library/Custard Room, 4-6 pm or reach out below to get connected.

It’s vital for us to contact Senators Peters and Slotkin, and Congresswoman Dingell, to stress that we oppose any more funding for the illegal war in Iran.

Congresswoman / Senator, thank you for vote insisting on Congressional approval for the exercise of war powers. Your vote was an important first step toward reasserting congressional authority over decisions about war and military engagement.

With the federal government’s trillion-dollar defense budget and tens of billions in new funding for ICE, it has access to more than enough money to support our troops. Our communities need investments in healthcare, education, housing, food security, and climate solutions—not ever-growing military budgets. To be quite clear: I strongly oppose any more money for this illegal war.
